Impact by the Numbers

Here are just some of the various ways Catholic Charities provided help and created hope in the lives of members of our community in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties in 2016. Behind each statistic are the stories and faces of persons seeking help and searching for hope.
  • Nearly 800 staff members of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark provided assistance to 55,793 individuals served in 88 programs at 35 sites.
  • 38,861 days of job training to 2,457 individuals.
  • 2,258 individuals served in 7 justice programs.
  • 1,250 older adults served in 12 programs.
  • 5,088 legal services provided to 3,782 immigrants.
  • 50,164 days of attendance to 434 students in 3 schools.
  • 82,742 nights of shelter to 1,176 homeless individuals and families.
  • 33,310 hours of counseling to 8,202 families in crisis.
  • 196,311 mental health services provide to 5,806 people.
  • 23,435 hours of service from 1,214 volunteers.
  • 197,087 pounds of food given to 29,211 households.
  • $792,142 in financial assistance provided to over 925 people in need.
  • 147 refugees served.
  • 145 veterans served.

Strategic Plan 2017 - 2020

Catholic Charites has begun the process of consultation and evaluation for the development of our 2017-2020 Strategic Plan. This Strategic Plan is an essential tool and blueprint for the next few years. We look forward to the next steps of implementing this Strategic Plan.
