Help a Homeless Professional Woman Get Through a Difficult Time

Kerrie is a single woman. For years she worked as a telemarketer for a company she helped found. The weak economy caused her business to go under. With no steady income, she was unable to pay her rent. As a result, she was evicted. Now Kerrie is a resident of St. Lucy’s, and as Kerrie puts it, "thankfully so."

St. Lucy’s Shelter was founded 25 years ago and is now the largest shelter for homeless men and women in Hudson County. It is a supervised 24-hour, seven-day-a-week, year-round emergency shelter facility for single women and men offering emergency housing and food. Clients are offered a 45-day stay. After admission, clients meet with staff to assess their current situation. Once their needs are determined, clients are referred to one or more of the following services: welfare, SSI, unemployment, job training and job search, and mental-health/addiction-treatment programs.

Make your donation today. Help a former business woman, the victim of a weak economy, live with dignity and hope.
